I'm Harriet Thompson from Synthetick, in Auckland, New Zealand. I'm a semi-retired motion graphics and vfx artist, designer and illustrator. I love what I do because it combines my backgrounds in art, media and technology. I'm at a stage in life where my focus is on my own creative projects, but I do still take on the occasional freelance gig if it feels right so please email.

I have degrees in Fine Arts and Mathematics and I've worked as a TV news and current affairs editor, and in multimedia back when it was an emerging field, before going on to run my own motion graphics and visual effects studio, working on videos, films, TV, exhibits and events with producers, directors and corporate clients.

Since 2008 I’ve also been producing my own collection of motion graphics and digital art assets under the name Synthetick. Thousands of satisfied customers have bought my media to use in a wide range of productions, from websites to album covers to film and TV productions.

Shine On Katherine Mansfield, AC Productions’ series of short documentaries, beams into the life and times of creatives who find inspiration in Mansfield’s writing and the wild, exotic life she led. I created text animations that were composited with ballet sequences. Check it out here.
